Happy New Year! I am sure like most of you, the end of my 2020 was full of being in and out of quarantine, waiting on test results, trying to make sure kids made it to their virtual classes when necessary and also preparing for Christmas. I left off with my oldest child being diagnosed with COVID-19. He had a mild case, with headaches and sleeping a lot. I was able to keep the rest of our family of five healthy, well at least COVID free. With the help of Amazon, Jane, Zulily, and Walmart‘s online ordering I was able to pull off a delightful Christmas.
I started 2021 in a new mindset. I took down and put away Christmas with excitement. I really do love Christmas and the decorations and lights but I was ready for a fresh and clean slate. I rearranged my living room to something more cozy. I really do love it. Please don’t judge, remember… single mom of four boys, two dogs and two cats. I make do with what I can.
I have never been a New Year’s resolution person. I feel like people often set unrealistic goals and then are down on themselves when they can’t meet them. That does not mean that I am approaching this year the same way that I approached 2020. For my health, I am taking my Care/of vitamins and supplements daily and I am getting chiropractic adjustments at The Joint to remove any interference in my body. I have also been low carb eating but I can’t guarantee that it will last. I really love pizza and chips and such. For my mind and soul, I am reading a lot and also listening to this great podcast, The Bible in a Year with Father Mike Schmitz. The podcasts are usually somewhere around 20 minutes so I listen on my morning school drop off and drive to work. I am not Catholic but he tells it in a way that it makes sense to me and I feel like I am finally understanding the story of The Bible much better this time around. And because I am me, I have already started a list of projects and some furniture revamping I want to do.
I apologize for the long pause in my posts but for the few people who follow along, and the others that stumble upon my perfectly imperfect life, I wanted to provide something worthy of your time. I have plenty of fun reviews, project ideas and crazy stories of my life coming up.
